Representation and Inclusion
Cultural Innovations strives to be a company that values its employees and treats everyone with equal respect and dignity. We value the diversity of thoughts and opinions that each colleague brings to the team and believe it’s important to be open with one another to create a working culture which is healthy, respectful and safe.
Our representation and inclusion policy was staff-led and developed iteratively and collaboratively through workshops, dialogue and debate. It remains an ongoing and active process and a journey for Cultural Innovations to be more mindful in company decisions, ranging from recruitment, design, consultancy services, office culture and more. It will not be complete or perfect from the beginning; we will continue to look at ways of enhancing and advancing the company and to be more welcoming and inclusive to people from all social classes, ethnicities, religions, sexualities, genders and people with disabilities. We are committed to growing as people, as colleagues, as a company.
Our main areas of focus for the policy will be in our connections, future work, personal development, work environment and recruitment.
We recognise areas in our lives where we are privileged, where we have power and influence, and we want to be aware that not everyone has those priviledges and that some people have very different experiences of the world. In valuing everyone, we see that we need to focus on changing certain behaviours and systems that unfairly marginalise and oppress certain groups of people.
As a company we think it is important to not be passive in structural discrimination, and we realise the part each one of us has to play in creating a working environment that truly advocates and promotes equality. We want to do this tangibly, with a practical action plan to recognise and tackle the un/conscious bias we have in our company.
